Ok guys, I've come to try and get a collective brain storm going as I need some help. This may be totally off-topic, oh wait, thats the point :p

I am trying to come up with a list of movies that involve what is known as "Decontruction." This basically means that the movie involves some type of reverse-role play going on and basically undermines a typical stereo-type of modern day. So far I can only think of a few, but thats mostly because I have a hard time thinking things up when I *need* to. So far I only have these movies...

Million Dollar Baby - Reversal of male typically boxing, and possibly the idea that its ok to kill people then they give up.
Home Alone series - Kids dont normally have to fend for themselves, much less end up coming out victorious
Mr. Mom - never saw it but can only imagine
Girlfight - Again, girl boxer I think.

A couple of notes, this is stickly opinionated and I'm not here to start a battle on who thinks what about what movie, ethically or otherwise. I just want to create a list and if you could give a comment next to the movie you might add, that would be a big help as well. I'm sure someone else might find this list interesting as well, so i'll add the movies to the OP if anyone wants.

another example: Legally Blonde.

google "fish out of water" movies and you'll find lists of more.

GI Jane's the first thing that comes to mind. Perhaps Dave or any other Mr. Smith Goes to Washington type political film.

Actually, just a few football players, and the owner of a sporting goods store.

Or, so I've heard.

Monster - female serial killer

I don't remember the name of the movie but it was made in the '40's, possibliy early '50's, about a psycotic little girl killing people. It was the basis for "The Good Son".

Its not actually a fake term, its an idea that was brought about by a french philosopher and it relates to the idea that not everyone gets the same meaning out of a given metanarrative. When relating to movies though, I guess hollywoody has another term for it. I've also seen it mentioned as "Revisionistic" Here is a little more info about it...

Thanks for the Fish out of water term though.

Thanks everyone for the help as well.

Ok I just did google fish out of water and I think you misunderstood what I was looking for. Fish out of water movies refer to the effects that happen when someone is taken out of their natural atmosphere. For example, Crocodile Dundee when he goes to a city and is used to the bushes, and Mr. Deed when adam sandler goes to a big wig company where they dont treat people like he is used to, and Encino man when a cave man comes to modern times. Those are alternatives to the "norm" for them, but what I'm looking for are movies that actually reverse a stereo typical role, such as a male not typically being a single parent, or a male ballerina, female football player.... things like that.

White Man's Burdon.

Plot Summary: The story takes place in alternative America where the blacks are members of social elite, and whites are inhabitants of inner city ghettos.

deconstruction is how a film critic analyzes a movie. there are no "deconstruction" films. no one in hollywood says "let's make a deconstruction movie". they make fish out of water tales or satires of men's/women's role in society, although they aren't mutually exclusive. For example: Mr. Mom is both a fish out of water tale and a satire of men's/women's roles in the workplace.
