I thought it was a great idea.
Spent 72 hours sorting it out, £150 on buying all the boards, equipment, clamps etc.
Fitted it all.

Now, the problem is the mouse and keyboard are quite difficult to access upside down under the desk - have I missed something?

It works OK for Elton John.

I've always used velcro strips and screw-in hooks to hold switches, cabling, etc. under desks and in cabinets.
