Decisions... Decisions...

Alright guys, I'm about to purchase a few new fans for my planned build but I'm having a bit of trouble deciding.

For starts the case is a NZXT Zero and features dual 120mm exhaust fans, what I can't tell is if it would work with 38mm fans. I obviously can see that they fit but what I can't tell is if the screws will be long enough, what do you guy's think?

For pictures of the case(with the heatsink I plan on using--scroll down abit--):

As I could careless about noise, so here are the fans.

25mm:

Also, do you think the 25mm version would make a good fan for the tuniq tower (I never trust fans that come included with HSF's).

Also I'm well aware of the intake, sidepanel, and blowhole fans in the case and I won't be using the ones on the side panel and I already know what I'm using for the other two.

Bump, and scratch using the 25mm fan as a fan for the tuniq, I'll just use a s-flex.

but does anyone have an idea about the 38mm fans working in nzxt zero?

if you need the rest of the system spec's ask.

38mm fans work best as exhaust or radiator fans as their hubs are usually so large and will work fine on the rear of the Zero. You'll want 25mm or thinner (Yate Loon come in 20mm now at jab-tech.com) on the side panel if any so as to have the least interference with internal components (if it was me, I'd block off the side panel with a few layers of Saran Wrap until I was sure it was needed. For the HDD fan it looks like a 38mm would fit there, but can't be sure. If you use 38mm, you'll probably want a fan controller as there is no need in any normal system for the kind of air that fan can put out.

Looks like someone at the site the OP linked has himself an ePeePee... 😉 Plus it looks like you won't be using any fans on the side with that monster HSF in there. So blocking the venting there is looking like a better idea all the time - or you might be able to put some fans on the outside

Thanks Zep.

I won't be using the side panel fan's (maybe one of them; lower front-right corner if NB get too hot) I plan on using an Aerocool Xtreme Turbine for the front intake fan (The LED's match up nicely with the smoke front window there) a Silverstone FN82 for the blowhole at the top.

You basically answered my question and those 38mm fan's look good so I'm going to give them a try.

OK. I was still editing my last post while you were posting the above, so you might want to scan it again.
