Which one? Speculative pricing, but both should be the same ball-park. Asus comes out later this month.
Part of me is leaning towards the Asus due to the HDR cert, and Brand-new, where as the AW is a year old, and phasing out. But the IPS, and ultrawide is really winning my eye factor.
I do play alot of overwatch, league of legends, etc. Types of games that would benefit more from 16:9, over 21:9. But I would also benefit on the ultrawide due to FF14, and other AAA supported titles.
The AW3418DW can be had for $7-800 fairly easy across most retailers. Amazon Warehouse, Newegg ebay, etc. The Asus is rumored to be 6-800. If the Asus comes out at $600, will likely be my decision.
ROG STRIX XG32VQR
Pros:
2560x1440 32" easier to drive
144Hz
HDR400 certified
Better individial backlighting
16:9 resolution so everything scales
Possibly cheaper, speculation is $6-800.
Freesync 2
Cons:
Not Ultrawide
Low HDR Cert
VA Panel
Alienware 3418DW
Pros:
3440x1440 35" higher resolution
G-Sync
IPS
Ultrawide
Known to be very quality panels, very few ever received with dead pixels, or bleeding.
Cons:
Zero HDR Cert
120Hz vs 144hz, not really a "con".
