I've got the following parts that were running on Vista and was about to order a Windows 7 OS. They were a pretty good midrange build 5 years ago. Computer keeps crashing, so I'm going to rebuild. I'm looking to spend $1000 or less including OS.
Whats a sensible approach here? My thought was to keep the PSU, GPU, Case, Heat Sink, the HDDs for bulk storage and buy a SSD for OS, replace motherboard & processor & memory. Thoughts?

Components:
MB: P5B Deluxe <- I have my suspicions this has issues but won't know until I get new OS, may be driver issues, corrupted OS, who knows
CPU: intel core 2 duo 2.4 ghz / 4mb L2,
Intel heat sink and fan
PSU: AX450 PN (450W)
GPU: Radeon XT1900 XTX
HDD: 2 Barracuda 7200.10 @ 320GB & 250GB
Memory: 2 x Corsair DDR2 6400 800Mhz / 1024 MB 5-5-5-12
CD/DVD R/W drive that doesn't get used much
Case: Coolermaster case that I like and works
24" monitor

Usage: some amatuer photo editing, light gaming, web.
