Hello everyone,

I have got all my components together to build my new system, i have:

A64 3500 s939
Asus AV8Deluxe MB
128DDR400 Kingston HyperX
200GB Western Digital 7200 RPM HD
Thermaltake 480Watt PSU
Saphire Radeon 9800 Pro
NEC Dual layer DVD+-RW

With all this i was deciding on a case and i have it narrowed down to the Lian Li PC-V1000B and the Thermaltake Tsunami. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with either one or if anyone could reccomend either of these over the other, or a different case if you feel stronly about it. I'm hoping a 480W PSU will be enough, i'd hope so.

Thanks

I'm not sure about the cases - I haven't had experience with either brand. But Lian Li seems to be pretty popular amongst enthusiast users, and on paper they do seem nice. Just expensive... As for a PSU, 480W should be more than enough for anything you want to throw at it (including the parts you're buying).

Btw, please tell me you meant 1024 DDR400, and not 128 - I would cringe to think someone's getting all that stuff yet only putting in 128MB ram ;)

You can spend a lot more and not have any better than the Kingwin 424 series.

I agree with Degrador. You MUST get more memory. I don't know about 1024mb but atleast 512 I'd say.

OMG yes i meant 1024, sorry for the confusion, yea that would be just ridiculous to only put 128MB in there!!

I checked out the kingwin it looks very similar to the older Lian Li cases. Does it cool well enough? I mean looks are good and all but i want to make sure that it'll keep every thing cool. The computer will be in the basement so the ambient temp should stay low, 60-70F even in the summer. But if i move somewhere I want to make sure it will still be good enough if i have a hot appartment or something.

Thanks

besides being an antec and cooler master enthusiast, i really do like the lian li pcv1000, in silve of course. i find the black to be a bit ugly when you can see through the mesh and see silver behind it. otherwise, kingwin is pretty popular also. if i were you tho, i'd go with the antec sonata, but thats just me.

There are quite a few reviews of the Kingwin 424 (also sold as the Beantech Igloo series by SVC et al.) around the web - just google on- Kingwin 424 review -. Or go to the Kingwin page for links to some. Right here on Anandtech is a good starting point. Then on to the recent one on PCMag.com.
. As far as cooling, if the existing fan arrangement doesn't do it, aluminum is soft ;) and there is plenty of room to mod out to 90 or 120mm fans.

Silverstones are very nice cases. The Temjin 04 probably shades the Kingwin in cooling and looks, but the Kingwin pulls ahead on features (mobo drawer and front fan controller) and price.
