I'm going to be renting a loft apartment in St. Louis in a few weeks. I've narrowed my choice of places to rent down to one building. The price, location, amenities, etc. line up with my needs and wants.
I had decided on a particular floor plan, but yesterday they said a deal fell through on another similar floor plan, and it would be available too. The floor plans are nearly identical, but the new opening is $100 per month cheaper. The cheaper apartment lacks an atrium balcony, and the living room is 50sq Feet smaller (barely noticable).
Apartment 1
-708sqFeet
-Hardwood floors
-Atrium Balcony (over looks inside of apartment)
-5th Floor

I'm deciding wether or not I want to save the money. I wasn't a big fan of the concrete floors, but I kind of like the idea of being on the first floor. It's located right off the center lobby, close to the front doors, etc. but just out of the way of everyday people traffic. The front door of the 1st floor apartment is where the balcony is on the 5th floor apartment. And the wall that would have the balcony on it is glass windows instead. Where as the 5th floor apartment, with the balcony, has brick walls all around.
The floor plans are the same. bedrooms are the same, kitchens are the same, etc.. so that's why the 2nd apartment only has 2 pics, to show the concrete floors. And you can see the door in the background where the balcony would be. Also, the 5th floor apartment has like 15 foot ceilings, where the 1st floor has like 24 foot ceilings.. which I think might cost more to heat/cool.
Ideas? I need to make a decision by next week.
