Deciding on a case for new Athlon 64FX machine...

Right now I'm in the process of putting together my new Athlon 64FX dream machine and am trying to decide which case to use...

I have it pretty much narrowed down to two, and would prefer to buy it from my local Fry's rather than order it online, but if anyone has a better online suggestion, I'm open to them.

I'm trying to decide between the Antec Sonata or the Cooler Master Wave Master.

I'm weighing my options between the two, the positives versus the negatives.

Sonata:

+Antec's been good to me, my current setup is housed in an Antec tower and has never given me a problem in the 3.5 years I've used it.
+Case is supposedly really quiet which is what I'm looking for with good cooling.
+Has a nice black finish which looks great.

but...

-The door on it looks pretty darn flimsy and I'd prefer it to open the other way like the Wavemaster's does because of where the tower will sit at my feet.
-The included 380 watt power supply probably won't be enough to run a higher-end machine really well, and I feel I'd just have to go out and replace it so I'd be paying for that for nothing.
-About the same price as ordering the Coolermaster Praetorian, my preferred case, online.
-Doesn't use thumbscrews like the Praetorian and Wavemaster.

Wavemaster:

+Coolermaster seems to have a rep as the builders of the best Aluminum cases out there.
+Case seems to be really sturdy and well-built.
+Door to cover parts made of sturdier material and opens to the right, which is what I prefer.
+Love the way it looks, moreso than the Sonata and Praetorian.
+Uses thumbscrews throughout, which is very nice, I really hate messing with regular screws in the case.

however...

-Much heavier.
-More expensive (though price isn't really a big deal here)
-Don't know if it would be as quiet, never used an Aluminum case before.

I'm also considering the Coolermaster Praetorian, but nobody locally seems to stock it in their stores so I'd have to order it online from NewEgg or something, which is a bit of an added hassle and I'd really just prefer to take it home from a local store.

If anyone has any suggestions or any firsthand experience with the Sonata, Wavemaster, or Praetorian, your input would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

The wavemaster is much heavier than the sonata?

The Sonata is a very nice case that comes with a great psu but i would go with the Wavemaster. Its just such a cool case. The removable motherboard tray is an awesome feature aswell.

Wavemaster weight(no psu) 7.8kg
Sonata weight(with psu) 9.4kg

aluminum is not heavy. it is true that it will weigh more then hte sonata with a psu in it, but dont forget that the wave master is much larger then it and is of highest quality. 100% aluminum vs plastic and steel.

I was considering the praetorian for two months but was hesitant due to the 80mm fan limitation. Instead, I ordered the cooler master stacker which just arrived a few hours ago. My wife is not a computer person at all, but the first thing she said was how nice the case looked with its brushed alum finish.

This baby is large and designed for air cooling. It is heavy, mostly steel, but I do not plan on carrying this around and the steel should make the case more sound insulated. It is a beauty.

If you want some links with some detailed pictures regarding the stacker, let me know. After seeing this puppy in person, I am so happy I spent the few extra bucks for it.

Here is a link to a nice review which has very enlargeable pictures. I found many other favorable review and the stacker was also recommended in AnandTech recent overclocker's guide.

I have a Sonata, and I love it. The front door is pretty sturdy and the included PSU is more than enough for a high end system. I'm running all of this on mine without a hitch:

Pentium 4 3.2 @ 3.6
Abit IS7
2x36GB WD Raptors
250GB Maxtor
BFG GeForce 6800GT @ 400\1100
SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum
PCI 802.11g card
ATI TV Wonder VE
DVD burner, CD burner

You might also consider the Thermaltake Tsunami.

It kinda resembles the Wavemaster but adds several features that I like. AT reviewed it not that long ago.

Pros
Lightweight but sturdy.
Looks great.
2 120mm fans (+ 1 90mm fan if you get the side window).
Mostly tool-less design.

Cons
Its not terribly quiet.

The Wave Master is the sexiest case I have ever seen ! :-D

Its the one AMD uses to show off their Athon Fx line at trade shows :)
