So I have an acer aspire timeline x, that has an sandy bridge i5 and integrated intel 3000 HD graphics. Ive been happy with it but its about time for a new computer.

Im not a huge gamer, but i want the ability to run a game if i buy one, i play minecraft here and there, and pick up titles now and again, IE: Diablo 3, SWTOR...ect. I dont need to play the latest games on Ultra, but at the same time i dont want to run into a problem where I buy a game and my computer can't even handle it on lowest settings...ya know?

so im looking at 2 computers. both the same price on newegg, 699.99.

one is the Acer Aspire V3-551G-X419, with an AMD a10 APU @ 2.3GHZ, with on board AMD Radeon HD 7660G, as well as a descrete AMD Radeon HD 7670M. It has 6GB DDR3 RAM (im assuming its 13xx mhz but its not listed on newegg). The HDD is a 5400RPM 750GB

The other is as ASUS A55VD-NS51. this has an i5 processor @ 2.6Ghz (3230M) with intel 4000 graphics and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT 610M. this one only has a 500GB 5400RPM hdd, but that is still enough for me.

both have the same resoluton screen, and im not bias towards AMD or Intel...so which one will give me better performance? im not too famillar with graphics cards :-/

sorry if this is in the wrong section, new to the forums... :)

edit: oops i lied, new egg has the acer on sale for 529.99 and the asus is 549.99...

edit again: i also like this SONY VAIO E Series SVE1413RCXB quite a bit, im much more into the 14" laptops and i love the backlit keyboard. this has the amd readon 7550M and an i5. its also $200 more... am i looking at a big performance dip in the sony?

any imput is appreciated...

Do not get the Asus with the GT 610M. That GPU is about as fast as the Intel HD 4000.

The Acer Aspire has the stronger GPU for gaming, so grab that.
