Well, I didn't ever think I would ever come back to the Motherboards section in Anand, but here I am!

I am a very satisfied and proud owner of the ASUS P4P800-Deluxe. This motherboard has done wonders in overclocking and support for all my peripherals. Blame me if you want, but I feel it's time to try something new.

I have a chance to get my hands on the new Abit AI7 to trade for my P4P800-D. What interests me about this motherboard is that it's one of the first motherboards to fully support the Prescott processor. The Abit name is also very revered in the motherboard community.

My interests are in new technology, overclocking, and system performance. Should I make this trade?

Lets see....you would loose the Gigabit ethernet. Loose your IDE RAID. Gain support for the Prescott, which they may have a processor out that will work on your board anyway since they even have a Prescott 533mhz FSB version coming out too, also your ASUS is very "revered" here. The ASUS is more mature and the Abit AI7 has one or two little kinks left they need to fix such as problems with the uGuru software and temperatures being reported higher on this board than others.

Im not saying its a bad board at all....In fact its the one I just purchased but if I had yours, I certainly wouldn't trade it.

Thanks :), I am running a seperate raid card for RAID 5, I used to use stripping, but every once in a while files would corrupt.

ive been doing some reading on these new abit mobos and it seems like they have bugs such as memory incompatabilities, im considering going with the tried and true nf7-s or is7 (not sure weather to go intel or amd)
