Built an XP1800 rig for my grandpa... was running very cool with the stock heatsink/fan... 102F idle, 114 under load. So I unplugged both case fans so the only fans running was the one in the power supply, and the one on the CPU... and temps rose to 107/118 respectively. And since he lives in Florida, I decided to try to create "Florida-like" conditions. Put the case back in it's box and turned it on... only allowed a small amount of airflow through the box... and I got the case temp up to 100 degrees... and the processor was running at 122 idle and 136 under load. While those may be too high for an overclocked rig... I'd say it's a pretty nice rig for my grandpa... nice and quiet too with a Seagate hard drive and only 2 fans in it =)

Heh, I thought the same thought. It looks like SI units are invading! Fan sizes are measured in mm, temperature in degrees Celcius...is this a sign?
