I will be using everest to check temps

What is a temp and voltage that's pretty safe for the cpu? (I am at 29C at idle right now)

Thanks for any help guys =)

Edit: any idea on approximately how high of an OC i can expect?

i would say from 2Ghz to 2.6Ghz is a safe bet. most athlon X2 3800+ cpus ive seen hit at least 2.6Ghz...and judging from your sig, it definitely looks like its more than capable...mobo, memory, and psu wise.

Cool, what's the max voltage I should try it at without risking damage?

Default voltage is a good start if you're worried about 'damage'. As for temp, don't let it get any higher than 60 C under load.

I haven't had to put more than 1.3875v into my X2 3800+ up to 2.57GHz... which is as far as I've gone. Memory is holding me back (@ 233Mhz 2.5-3-2-5) and I don't want to go down a divider or loosen the timings :) As 2kfire said, just keep an eye on load temps and make sure they don't go over 60. I personally don't like to go over 54c or so, but that's just me. My machine idles at 36c and loads at about 52c running @ 2.55GHz (dual prime95).
