I have read through as many posts as I possibly could to get the information I need. Since money is a little tight, I have to utilize some parts that I currently have and upgrade them over time. Below is the build. If anyone has any recommendations where I can save a little more, it is greatly appreciated.

System criteria: quiet, stable, budget

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 ($180)
Asus P5W DH Deluxe - I think I can save here if I had a better recommendation ($260)
2x2GB PC5300 memory - I already have these ($0)
NVidia FX3500 - I already have the video adapter ($0)
Seagate 320GB SATA - ($95)
Seasonic S12-500W - Might be able to find a different PSU ($120)
Antec Case - already have ($0)

Total: ~$660

If there is any place I could shave some cost and keep stability, it will be greatly appreaciated. I am not planning on OC'ing any time soon. Quiet is the biggest concern. Syste, will share a room with a newborn.

I have the GA-965P-DS3 (the only difference being the capacitors) and its a great motherboard. I would highly recommend this or the S3 to save you some money. (and they overclock well)

Apparently Gigabyte has a very good motherboard for Core Duos and Core 2 Duos. Check the Anandtech High-end Buyer's Guide. Look at the baseline High-end system. I think the motherboard that Exterous and myocardia recommended is the motherboard I was thinking of.

The PSU is overkill. I agree with oynaz.

Congrats on the baby!

The PSU might be ovekill, but I would stick with it for future upgrades. It nevers hurts to have more power. That's my two cents.
