Ok, i have decided on a Geforce 2 Ti, now which one to get? Whats the differnce between brands? I'll list what i need the card to have, what i dont need, and what i would like:

NEED:
64MB Quality DDR Ram(I will OC)
Good cooling fan as i will OC

DONT NEED:
TV out
DVI
Video In

Would be nice:
Fastest ram possible(want to OC like crazy)
Ramsinks
Game bundles are always good :)
Cheap

So basically what brand has the best OC options, like faster ram and good fan?

Not sure where he got it, however the fellow building my machine found a Gainward GF2Ti card with 3.6ns DDR memory on it (just putting it in there until the GF4s are available to me, since no one has GF3Ti500s these days). I won't have the machine for another week, so I can't give any personal experience with it - however based on the reviews of the 4ns version of this card, it should work quite well. An if you're planning on overclocking it, that 3.6ns memory could be an excellent asset.

The discription he gave me of the model was "CARDexpert Gainward GeForce2 Ti500 XP 64MB 3.6ns DDR w/TV out and VIVO (Video in/Video out) Golden Sample" and there is also an older 4ns version so its easy to be confused (esp. with Gainward's anoying use of Ti500 for their GF2Ti cards).

If the Gainward GF2 Ti/500XP is too pricey you might want to consider the Gainward GF2 Ti/450. It's about $100 US, and has 4.5ns RAM. I've got one overclocked to 306/511. Very nice performance for the price.

Hercules GF2 Ti has 4ns RAM the same as the Gainward GF2 Ti/500XP, but there have been a lot of complaints about it overclocking extremely poorly and often not even hitting GF2 Ultra speeds.

It's not supposed to, is it? I might be mistaken, but I thought the Ultra's were the highest end of the GF2's, even better than the newer TI's (although more expensive)

The Geforce 2 Ti is the high end Geforce 2 chipset if you get one with 4ns ram. The core is updated to a .15 micron process from the original .18 on the Ultra, and correspondingly runs cooler and usually overclocks better.

Rand, how were you able to overclock your 4.5ns ram to 511MHz? I have 4ns on my Gainward with stock ramsinks and a cool case, tops at at 523MHz.

The Ultra is "supposed" to be the high end GF2, but even so with 4ns RAM one would expect it to be easily capable of 230MHz DDR... which the Hercules card doesnt seem to hit with any consistency.

How?
Just good luck and decent cooling I suppose, I havent done any modifications or anything special to the card.
Many of the overclocking reports I've heard only seem to have the Ti/500X only hitting about 15MHz higher allot of the time, despite the 60MHz DDR advantage it should offer in theory.
I should say I have an extremely cool running system, so I image that helps somewhat though.

I have a Gainward Geforce2 Ti 450 *Golden Sample*with Tv-out and it runs quite nice at 250/470, though it does go higher, as I haven't toyed around with it too much. ;) But if you want some real o/c potential, the XP 500 is top-notch.
