I have always liked iguanas. They are pretty energetic and hard to keep track of when they are young, but when they get older they chill out and lay around alot. pretty coool animals.
I know it's not on your list, but you may want to consider a Sugar Glider. I've never had one, but always liked them. I think someone on ATOT owns some, but I can't remember who.

Those look cool, but my cat would probably eat them. 🙁
I'd go with the saltwater tank - make it a reef tank if you want a challenge. Saltwater fish are also some of the longest living fish - it's not uncommon for some to live 20 or 30 years depending on the fish and environment.
