I'm on AT&T and have a Blackberry 9000, I'm in North NJ (real close to NYC) and in Philly most of the time. My BB is starting to die and AT&T finally released a decent phone (thats not an apple product).
What I would really love is the Samsung Note, but I can't wait for it. I can wait until Christmas max. This sticky trackball is getting to me and I don't want to change it again because I might mess up the phone (I don't think the pieces fit together right last time I changed it).
I just use the phone mostly to read manga at work and track my stocks. I'm kinda pissed that the BB doesn't allow me to do a lot of banking stuff, because it's not full web enabled, otherwise I would just get the BB 9900.
So NYC is going to get AT&T LTE soon and I assume Philly is also going to get it around that time.
So which phone should I get, I'll list the advantages of each as I see them
HTC Vivid:
1. LTE, should be fast for at least another 18 months, by then everyone on an AT&T smart phone will have switched over to an LTE phone and the bandwith will be saturated like it is on 3G.
Nexus:
1. 720p resolution will most likely be the new standard resolution that apps and mobile websites will be optimized for.
2. Instant OS updates by Google. For the Vivid I expect ICS to be the last major update and we'll most likely get a few security updates here and there, but no new major OS release.
3. Slightly bigger/wider screen makes it easier to type. I'm not used to typing on the screen and I'm coming from a phone with the best keyboard on the market. I actually couldn't type on the smaller keyboard on the BB 9700.
