So, here is your chance to play real-life "The Sims." I am interested in doing Computer Science/Engineering, and I was accepted into both UCLA CS/E and UCBerkeley Engineering-Computer Science (for the spring term, though). I am undecided on which college should I choose.

So, vote away, and decide my life :)

you have to decide whether you are a communist or not. Once you decide that you will know where to go. :p

Well, I'm a moderate conservative, but I think I could learn to live with a few commies... Everyone at berkeley seems to say that they're not really prevalent, as it is rumored.

I remember thinking something very similar about college in general. Even here at Pitt (which is nowhere near as infamous as Berkely) I'm almost constantly agitated by commies. Since coming to college two years ago, I have drifted farther and farther to the right as a result of having to listen to the commies preach all the time because the commies are so annoying that I want to do just about anything I can to piss them off. If I went to Berkely, I'd get stoned by some tree-hugger or something. Plus, if you go to Berkely, you'll have to deal with the perception people have of that school and you'll be having to defend yourself as "not a commie" more often than you'll probably like.

UCLA is pretty freaking left-wing too. I voted UCLA. I went there and I had a great 6 years :) I think it's a better balance between social and academic, plus the basketball and football is better :) Cal does have an on campus football stadium, which is cool, but their team is worse than UCLA's.
On top of that, the girls are way better looking at UCLA. The education is probably close to equal...I don't know where each program is ranked.

voted berkeley cuz that's where I'm told BSD came out of. But I say go where they give more money. It is kinda funny tho how the only difference between lsd and bsd is one letter.

I decided that I'm not going to take into consideration a college's political reputation, so all of the commie school arguments are out :p

In that case, go where you feel most comfortable. More important to like your school than it is to go to the one with the best reputation. No sense spending four years thinking, "boy, I wish I'd gone to another school, I don't like this campus".
