decent speakers under $30?

My gf (yes, finally got one), has a laptop with dinkiest speakers.
So, what are good speakers under $30? There are always discussion over the higher end speakers, but never on the low end.
I'm looking at some 2 pieces speakers like these:
altec 2 pieces
yamaha
creative

I'm deciding btw the altec and creative. altec for its look (at least they look nice in the pic, dunno about the real ones), and creative for it's cheapness. (only about $11).

please give me some inputs.

P.S. prefer only 2 pieces speakers coz the dorm room is tiny beyond all reasons.

How about Logitech Z-340s? They put out 33watt RMS and come in black. They are going for $34. Last week they were $24 at Target, but that sale is over already.

I disagree. I paid $27 for mine and I think they are more than decent. They are altec lansing.

you may want to look into benwin- they make a ton of NXT flat panel speakers that sound fairly decent.
