Decent Soundcard that can take advantage but not be too much for...

So I'm going for a second build, mainly used for gaming and music, due to the close proximity of my neighbors (live in an apartment) I have to use headphones all the time. I was going to pair it with an old EH150 Sennheiser that I had on hand, what's a decent but not too expensive sound card to get? Or would it even matter?

Thanks

How important is gaming to you?

I'd have to say your headphones aren't exactly the best-sounding things out there, so you're looking at some fairly low-end sound cards. If you really don't care about your sound in gaming, but really want good music, I would recommend the Chaintech AV-710 (available on ZZF for $25.99). This is actually THE best value sound card you can get (once you set it up right), and has great music quality. If you're looking more for gaming sound, though, you're probably looking at something like an Audigy2.

I have an Audigy2 Value, i got it for around $25 off ebay. It's an excellent budget sound card. On decent Logitech Z-4 speakers, I can't tell the difference between my card and an Audigy2 ZS that my roommate has. The reason I chose to go with the Audigy series is because of their lower CPU utilization when gaming..
