The newer P4 chipsets like 845G only takes 4 sides of memory in total. Most of the motherboards have 3 memory slots. But if you put in two double sided sticks, then the third slot cannot be used (because you have 4 sides of memory already).
From what I've seen of PNY memory, the Infineon ones are 8 chips, but with 4 chips on each side, so it's still double sided. The Samsung ones are all 16 chips double sided.
For overclocking, the best ones are Samsung K4H280838C-TCB0. There are some K4H280838B-TCA2 out there too but the 'B' in front of the hyphen means it's rev B (3rd generation, according to
Samsung docs), which is before Samsung started selling PC2700 memory.(Rev C is the first revision with PC2700.)
TCA2 (DDR266A) is supposed to be better than TCB0, but because of the revision, I prefer K4H280838C-TCB0.
I have also read that rev C is better in OC than rev D (the DTL batch of PC2700 that ppl talk about).
Now of course, K4H280838C-TCA2 would be even better since that's rev C at DDR266A. But I haven't yet seen any of that being sold under the PNY name.
So if you see K4H280838C-TCB0, that's good stuff. Grab it. If you see K4H280838C-TCA0, that's not bad either. People (caligula over at heavy wallet) have reported being able to go up to FSB 170MHz with TCA0.
