Seems good, but a refresh rate of 60hz is a deal breaker for me.

You can see the rate the crystals align?

I sure as hell cant.

I too wonder what magic can make 24P or 24Hz movies take advantage of 120Hz screen.

120hz screens dont have to do 3:2 pulldown. 120 is a multiple of 24.

I'm surprised they left off a Svid input. It's still the standard on non-HD satellite receivers.

I'd appreciate if you can by any chance test whether 1080P works via VGA cable! I have laptop that has no DVI or HDMI out.

I have a decent CRT projector and some friends and I did a double blind test to see if differences in resolution and refresh were noticeable without being told. We took the Matrix Trilogy in 1080p24 and used my computer as a scaler. It's a CRT projector so it doesn't have a native resolution and the neckboards can handle 120hz and beyond.

At 117 inch diagonal the difference between 720p and 1080p was obvious, as was the difference between 1080i and 1080p. So too was the difference between 60 hz and 72 hz. The 3:2 pulldown definitely caused some stuttering at 60 hz. That said, we couldn't tell the difference between 72 hz and 120 hz.

Why don't our TV's run at 72 hz?
