So I'm looking to upgrade to a completly new system. I was curious, for gaming and movies, to go with a CRT or LCD. I'd like to keep prices under 1k for a monitor, and prefer a LCD since they are lighter and less bulky, any suggestions?

If you've got up to a grand to spend on a monitor, then you can get the the cream of the crop for both LCDs and CRTs.

I was looking at some of the 12 and 16ms 19" and 20.1" panels from Viewsonic at Newegg.

if you have 1k, one stop dell. 2001FP or 2005FPW. The 2005 is the widescreen version of 2001FP

Well, what'd be the best bet for me? I thought I read some compatibly issues with those odd LCD resoloutions in games. I usually play standard games like Quake 3, Half-Life, UT2k3 and Enemy Territory in 1024x768 resoloution. And also read the 2100 line was quite a bit cheaper. I'm going for high quality, no ghosting, and mobile.
