Does it exist? Everything I have ever tried has been pretty bad either too much breading or too slimey. :(

No. That's why I don't eat fish here in Indiana. After living in/around a fishing town all of my life, only fresh will do.

Just like vegetables: Canned and frozen are mediocre at best. Fresh is where it's at.

You can only get good fish in coastal towns. Frozen fish sucks. I haven't had decent fish since I moved to Sacramento.... I want to move back to the beach.

BTW, anyone live in San Diego? How do you like it?

Frozen fish sucks.
Yep, that's pretty much it I guess. The reason people buy keep buying frozen fish is probably the packaging, the heavy breading and salt...plus they use tartar sauce to kill, er I mean enhance the flavor.

Personally, I think they should *scale* back.

Sams Club had frozen Mahi-Mahi a few weeks back so I picked up a bag...it was great.

Oh, it wasnt breaded...just raw frozen steaks.

It exists, but frozen fish is best left to McDonalds and the like. If you want good fish, only fresh will do :)

Frozen can be alright, we buy grouper and tilapia 10-15 pounds at a time frozen and its pretty good for the most part. But it cant beat fresh. Once you had fresh, its very hard to have otherwise. In fact, my family has an excellent fish connection, we know someone who files fresh fish down from boston 4 days a week. Its uber-tasty!

Fried/Breaded fish is generally crap to begin with... though I've had some Perch beer-battered that was pretty tasty and of course it's always a good way to prepare Catfish...

I was actually going to say Mahi-Mahi but someone beat me to it... Try swordfish steaks too.... you'll want a fish that was "tough" to begin with... don't buy Orange Roughy frozen... it's to tender and will suffer from the freezing at tleast that's been my experience...

I've lived in Miami and currently reside in Chicago... Chicago gets fish flown in fresh... but it still doesn't beat the freshness and availability of variety in Miami... one of the only things I miss. :)... there was this great all-you-can-eat Sushi bar...mmmm.......
