my friend has a vantec. it lags between speed adjustments and makes buzzing noises from the fans.

I went with sunbeam's fan controller. The extra heat made pretty much no difference to my case temp. Its cheap, does what its made to do perfectly, and i highly recommend it.

Actually, a slight lag is also accompanied by nice capacitors. However, the noise is unsettling. I won't go with a Sunbeam because it's ugly. However, there's nothing technically wrong with it.

i dunno, i've never experienced noise with fans and the vantec. and i've had some pretty cheap no name fans too.
