A 9 cell? Do you have the power settings turned down to max battery with QuickSet? I'm surprised it's so depleted though, being 2 years old. My 8-cell battery is at 70% of it's original capacity after a little over 2 years.
Of course, # of cells does not determine how long it will last. It's all about the amp-hours that the battery can store.

Aye it is 9 cell, the bios itself says the battery is at the end of it's life and the battery icon flashes orange.

You could always try your luck with an E-Bay battery, but you risk getting some Chinese piece of junk fake-ish battery (so it won't work as well as a real one) instead of a Chinese made certified battery.
