Decent deal - Norton SystemWorks & Logitech Optical Mouse: $19.99

Best Buy has a Norton SystemWorks 2001/Logitech Optical Mouse bundle advertised in their Sunday flier for $59.99 before $20 upgrade rebate. I was planning on picking up this software anyway, so I grabbed a copy yesterday.

Wouldn't you know, the bundle rang up at $39.99. So, after the rebate: $19.99+tax for the software and the optical mouse.

I didn't realize this until I got home, but the mouse is the iFeel version of the Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse (usually $39.99). The mouse, combined with the included software allows you to "feel" vibrations, etc. as the mouse moves over menu items, web links, etc. It's kind of goofy and I can see a high annoyance factor, but luckily you can disable it, and it will act just like a regular mouse. Oh, and it's USB only.

BTW, this was a Detroit, MI area store.

A guy down the hall from me has one of these mice. As far as 'dual handed' (ie, not sculpted) mice go, its pretty decent. I prefer a sculpted mouse and will upgrade if they make an optical one. As far as iFeel goes, besides the stupid name and the fact that it runs as a tray icon (bad!), it is kind of novel. Not very useful on the desktop, but if game support ever increases (no Q3A support yet...) it would be very useful. The mouse doesnt vibrate, it actual feels like different surfaces (rubber, etc) when you roll it over things (buttons, etc). That is annoying after a while. But if the mouse was to give you a little bump when you got shot in a game, or when you fired a gun, it would add just a little more to the immersion of the game. The game drives that are on the iFeel website suck

lol, was always wondering what in the world they were talking about with that product! The box just kept telling you: "You can feel your desktop", and I kept saying "WHAT?!"...

The rebate is for upgrading and needs proof of ownership.

Logitech has a rebate going on, if Norton's rebate does not require the upc maybe you can save a few more bucks.s
I am wondering if you could post your receipt maybe we could use it to pricematch it.

Well, I double-checked my receipt and found out what happened. When the cashier scanned it, she scanned the UPC for the mouse instead of the bundle, which is on the Norton box. I got a good price, but now I don't have a receipt for the Norton rebate. I'm sure I can find a way around that, though.
