I just got these at the Burbank Frys in Southern Cali. These where 29.99 for 100, which isn't bad. I heard these are good quality and if you're not into rebates, i think these would work fine.

Edit: I forgot to say that these were 700MB/80 Min CD-Rs. I heard these were a decent brand, and I needed some so I got them. :)

Yes. But you can get two 50 packs of Fujifilm 24X made by Taiyo Yuden at Office Max on sale tomorrow (today at some stores where they post their new prices early) for $11.99 each or a total of $23.98 and if you are into rebates there is a $5 mail in rebate available. I much prefer Taiyo Yuden made blanks to Imations.

Best,

What's wrong with imation? I've burned hundreds over a period of several years and they have worked flawlessly for me for everything. I haven't had one failure or problem.

Madferret,

Why not burn DC games on Imation? I just got a DC and some "backup" games and was going to burn some for a friend but only have Imation cdrs right now. What is a good brand then. And do DC games fit on 650 MB cdrs or should I get 700 MB cdrs. How about those Fuji's on sale this weekend.

Thanks

Great price for no rebates! I dont know if it's me but I very rarely get rebates without a hassle. :)

I monitor and participate in a couple of boards that involve CD burning. People seem to have mixed results with Imation -- some report excellent success, others lots of coasters. Personally I like Verbatim (available inexpensively at Sam's Club), Kodak and Taiyo Yuden made blanks (in 50 packs they have a screw on top; they also say made in Japan). I have heard excellent reports on Mitsui but they are almost impossible to find (and certainly not inexpensive).

This is most likely due to the fact that Imation uses 2 manufacturers of CD-Rs... Taiyo Yuden and Ritek. To tell the difference, you just have to check the 'made in ____'.

The same goes for Fuji and TDK. They have several manufacturers make their blanks. I believe all HP and Sony CD-R's are Taiyo Yuden so they are a safe bet if you want quality or order over the web where you can't check out their place of manufacturer.

Hi,

If they are made in Taiwan, then they are probably made by Ritek. There was a time when Ritek was truly awful. But they have dramatically improved their act and many now consider them a quality manufacturer. So I would rather get Taiyo Yudens (making the OfficeMax deal far better) but the Imations are probably ok. I still like Verbatim the best.
