It's going into an HP workstation that doesn't have a massive power supply, so I just need something that works reasonably well.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm thinking a 5670 is about as powerful as you can get without an external power adapter, which would likely run SC2 fine at most resolutions, what do you play at?

good thing about blizzard... they make all their games to be within playable reach with modest specs.

I think a 5670 is the most powerfull card you can get that ll run off the PCI slot only, without needing a external power plug as well.

So if you have a small psu, without access to plugs like those, its probably your best bet.

Make sure you got for one of the 1gb versions, with 1600mhz effective memory.

Like this one: ~69$ without MIR.

Actually, the new HD6670 is the most powerful card you can get that will run just off of PCI slot power. It costs about $30 more than the 5670: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131399.

And it's about 10% faster: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/AMD-Radeon-HD-6670-Video-Card-Review/1259/7. Probably not worth it at this point, since it's still being sold at full price.

You can actually get an HD5670 for $55 after rebate here: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php...12MB-DDR5-VGA-DVI-HDMI-PCI-Express-Video-Card. Use code SAVEMAY5 for $5 off of $70, and send in the rebate for $10 if that's worth it to you. This is the 512MB version rather than the 1GB version, but for gaming below 1080p, the 1GB isn't necessary.
