I've been meaning to upgrade my card since I bought my Dell 19" ultrasharp to take advantage of DVI. I bought Quake 4 and like it, so I have more motivation.
Current card is an nvidia geforce 4 64mb card, and it's barely playable.

I'm running, 512mb Ram, Amd 2500+ Barton.

I want to keep it under $100. I don't need great performance, just acceptable.
I found this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130262
It's an eVGA 256-A8-N330-LX Geforce 6600LE 256MB 128-bit DDR AGP, for $70 after rebate.

Good card? Any better ideas? I know very little about vid cards.
Thanks for your help.

Looking on Newegg, you can't get a AGP 6600GT or a X800GTO for your budget. Best I could spot was this. According to the THG charts this is faster than a regular 6600 in everything except Quake 4 (at 1024 x 768.) And the regular 6600 will whup a 6600LE.

Buy this real 6600 card instead of that castrated LE model you chose.

3D Fuzion Geforce 6600 256MB AGP

This card has 8 pipelines, the LE model has 4.

And this card is only $74 after rebate, in your budget and much much faster than the 6600LE.
