For Christmas, I mounted a 19" LCD monitor in front of my fiancee's treadmill and attached it to my PC as a 2nd monitor. Now she can watch all the DVDs/archived TV shows she wants (so it's close enough to her original request that I mount an LCD TV in there and find some way to inconspicuously route 50 feet of coax cable into the 2nd bedroom of our apartment where in-wall cabling is probably a big no-no
).
The video is great, but she has to turn my computer's speakers up to near-max to hear the audio over the treadmill noise, so I'd like to get a ~10-15ft. 3.5mm M/F audio extension cable so she can plug her headphones directly into my Logitech speaker's power button/volume level hub that sits on my desk. A search at Monoprice has turned up this: Link At first glance, it would serve the purpose well but for some reason all the customer reviews are pretty darn terrible (for other lengths, as well).
Can anyone recommend a brand or store I should look at for this particular need? A dream feature, which probably doesn't exist on a cable like this, would be a way for her to turn the volume up & down even while standing on the treadmill. But for that, I imagine I might be better served looking for headphones with some type of a volume knob built in that still manage to be lightweight enough to wear while running.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
