I'm looking to buy a grahics card for my family's computer. My brothers like to play games, but they don't really care about eye candy on the games. As long as it runs at a decent framerate, they couldnt care less. So, which part in this price range would be a good choice. I'd like to get a decent lifespan from the card if at all possible. Remebmer, high graphics settings don't really matter, I just want longevity.

You can find 6600GT's for about 150cdn, as well as x1600 pros. Both should do the job well.

LOL, I thought you meant CAD as in the application, and I was going to recommend a workstation card :p

What is the rest of your systems specs?

How much ram?

Does it have PCIe?

proccessor?

for 110 bucks you can pick up a Nvidia 6600GT

for 159 bucks you can pick up a Nvidia 6800GS

The 6600GT will be fine for you - that is assuming the rest of your PC is decent.
