Not sure if this belongs here or somewhere else so mods can move it to wherever but I thought I'd pass on the information that was just announced about the Intel Big Deal that's coming up in December.

This time around we have:

Intel Desktop Board DP55WG - $109
Intel X25-M - $129 *Only available to those with Rockstar status*
Intel i5 Processor - $99, $89 for Rockstars. Forgot to write down model. If anyone knows post and I'll fix it.
Intel i7 - 860 - $129

One of the eligibility requirements is that you complete the September, October and November (possibly December as well) "Our Word" quizzes

Also for those familiar with the Intel Retail Edge there's a new chip retention rule that you have to complete at least one of the surveys or quiz things a month to keep your points.

There are probably other people on here more familiar than I who can answer questions but I'll do my best to answer any that come up.

Cheers

I'm guessing because a lot of fry's employees probably get the deal and sell it on ebay... That's just my guess...

It happened due to Fry's Home Office, requesting a specific redesign of the intel retail edge site called fry's intel academy for fry's employees only. One of the request by Fry's Home Office was to not allow there employees access to the reward system. I can think of several reasons for Fry's Home Office to request this, but none of them look good on Home Office end so I won't go there.

Intel bent over and allow Fry's to do this change of policy on the intel site. It is now water under the bridge, this happen months ago and people have already gotten angry (including an assistant store manager I know who lost all his points and rockstar status), yet nothing come of this anger. Fry's Home Office won, and Fry's Employees lost a great service for them.

Can you tell us the rest of this story about Fry's?

I avoid Fry's at all costs, and it always looked like a hellish place to work to me; I always felt bad for their employees.
