It was a telemarketer calling in spanish...and she refused to speak english...


We've had vonage for a while but the phone number transfer took until december 12th....


And to think that I was so excited, checking my QoS traffic and such and making sure this call would be awsome.

VoIP is VoIP. You doing QoS on the WRT or the Baby-BSD box? 🙂

My suggestion - add a second NIC to the m0n0wall, do the QoS there.

the WRT5g is set as an accesspoint on the LAN. Same subnet as the one titled 'wLAN.'

my soekris has 5 interfaces.

eth0 - LAN (management interface) nothing is currently plugged in to this
eth1 - WAN -DHCP Comcast
eth2 -wLAN - originally jsut for the AP and the clients,...moved stuff over due to lazyness
eth3 - VoIP - this subnet is meant for the Phone adaper...I don't have an extra crossover cable though🙁
eth4 - unused.

My plan was to have all the wireless clients PPTP int othe Soekris and suchfor security.
Didn't have time.


That said, I have all the necessary QoS rules set for the WAN connection..I jsut need to fix them up a little.

I got one of those today on my cell phone! Never heard of such a thing. Spanish telemarketers calling US numbers and playing non-English recordings while ignoring the no-call list. I pressed a bunch of buttons including "0" which didn't seem to do anything, not even interrupt the recording but it eventually connected me to a Spanish-speaking call center person. I then spouted out every Japanese word I knew until she hung up (She only tolerated it for about four seconds) 😀 When it comes to tolerating a language you don't understand I out-lasted them! HOO-RAY!
