Firefighters are assessing damage caused by a cyclone that struck a beachfront neighborhood in New York City.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Queens and Brooklyn as the storm moved through the city. It expired at 11:30 a.m.The service says radar detected a "strong rotation" in the storm.

Look at that pic.

It is more than "possible" tornado.

You don't see that in New York City very often

agreed. any idea? besides nuke it from orbit?

Switch between Julian and Gregorian calendars so that Dec. 21 never arrives? :sneaky:

And lol at the cute lil baby tornado. And if it formed over water, would it not technically be a hurricane or a waterspout?

yeah it was a waterspout far to small to be a hurricane.

NY just trying to copy IL and have a tornado and fail.

Winter is coming

Yep, seems summer went by way too fast, but Winter is definitely coming. My outside temp sensor reads 11C right now, which tends to be a couple degrees too high as it's right on the house wall. The weather report says 9C as of 20 minutes ago.

Crazy to think that I will have to start using the furnace soon.

Also I just checked the calendar again, and Dec 21 is still coming. It's not much closer than it was a while ago though. While where checking that, Christmas is also coming, it's 107 days away.
