It starting to get tiring about people laughing about Nissan's sh!tty resale value. Sure, some Nissans have worse resale value to Toyota and Honda, but overall as a brand is pretty competitive to them. Not to mention that the 350Z and G35 coupe are listed as cars with the best resale values.

And the difference is only a few percentage points. Altimas keep their resale pretty good.
 
it's nissans historical resale value that's funny. Look at inifiniti for example : until recently any I30 or G20 you bought would instantly lose about half it's value. which meant if you bought it, you'd better keep it... forever 🙂

their ability to retain value has improved though, no denying that to nissan.

Compared to the ES300 the I30 probably was a little bit lower. Didn't you see the resale value of the Maxima that I posted? It actually beats the Avalon and I bet 99% of the people didn't think that was the reality (myself included). I bet the I30 resale value is actually better (before Nissan killed the name of course) than we think. I can also post the chart showing that the Q45 actually has better resale value than the RL. Idon't think the first generation TL had a great resale value either.

Yay for Altimas..... (does that include the 2000 models or only the new ones?)
 
Residual != resale.

Residual is an estimated value at the end of a period of time. Not an actual value. Resale value is what somebody is actually willing to pay for a car.

Flat out, people are more willing to pay higher amounts for a used Honda or Toyota than a Nissan.

350z is an exception because it's a low production, performance car. They almost always hold their value better than economy/family car.
 
All I know is I bought a 2002 Sentra SE-R with only 11K miles on it for $9900 in 2/2004 which is pretty cheap.

xtracab is not the same as nissan's crew cab. nissans' crew cab is four doors. toyota's four door is the double cab.
