Debit card stolen by waitress tonight...

Don't get it. Was with a large party and we were all pissed about slow service, so I started going to the bar and paying cash.

Cashed out with 2 beers on my 'tab' she had, but she insisted I never gave her my card. Don't know how the credit was ran though...anyway manager was uncooperative. So I called my bank and cancelled at the table. He insisted I should just wait until 4pm tomorrow.

I am glad it was cancelled...my tab was 9.00, signed a $5 tip. 10.38 was processed.

I think she gave my card to someone else.

it's possible that he thought he did give her the card in the book, but it fell out and someone else picked it up.... it's possible that he THOUGHT she gave him the card and dropped it or something.... it's possible that he gave her the card and she swiped it and she lost it or dropped it somewhere...

i just really doubt a waitress is going to steal YOUR card and not anyone else's. if she's going to be such a clepto to steal a customer's card, the chances are that she's done it before. if she's done it before, she would have been fired. if she's done it before at another restaurant, she probably wouldn't be working at THIS restaurant.

true, but i think he overreacted with the waitress and by making the thread in the tone he did. no one knows whether or not she actually STOLE the card. either way, as soon as you lose your card, you call in and cancel it.
