Debian on Atom D2500 - no video

Hi guys,

I installed Debian Wheezy 64-bit on an Atom D2500 based computer and there's no video over DVI. I'll have to dig through my scrap heap and see if I can find a VGA cable and try that, but I don't have any hopes. I heard that there are no 64 bit Atom video drivers for Linux, but the funny thing is I installed it in graphical mode and everything was fine, but now that I try to boot the installed system into the console I get a black screen. The OS works otherwise, since I managed to log on and restart and shut down blindly.

That's one of the processors that Intel used PowerVR solution for graphics. I'll suggest you use windows because the most you'll ever get is accelerated 2D.

I had an issue with my NUC where the install went great but there was no video until I plugged the hdmi cable into the other hdmi port. I bought my NUC because I did not like Cedar Trail's Linux graphics not properly supporting 1080P (DN2800MT). However, the graphics definitely worked with Wheezy at 32 bits. You need a smart person to tell you how to ssh into the box and then point some file at the correct video output device. The fun part is if ssh server was not part of the initial install. A braille based logon followed by assuming a root identity and "apt-get install openssh" is an essential character builder best accompanied with large quantities of caffeine to steady the fingers.
