debian on a laptop

Trying to do a net install of debian on an old NEC versa 5080x. I've got an Ositech Jack of Harts pcmcia card that I can't figure out how to load. During the initial install it didn't automatically detect it. According to this site Text it uses the smc91c92_cs driver. when I selected that it immediatly repeated that it couldn't find the ethernetcard and someting about a firewire interface was detected.

I proceeded through the rest of the install and can boot into it, but I'm trying to get connectivity now so I can get what I want through apt. I also have the versa 5000 port bar that according to this site Text has a Realtek RTL8019 ethernet chipset built in, but the install didn't detect that one either. Anyone have an tips on how I can get this running?
