When I close the lid on my laptop that I recently installed Debian, it freezes right away. Does anyone know how to fix this?

thanks

Look in /etc/acpi/actions, there's the scripts that acpid calls when ACPI events occur.

have you looked on http://www.linux-laptop.net/

Its a Dell Latitude d600, not sure, not sure. I just installed it from the web yesterday so I would hope the newest version of both.

I'll check that site out, thanks.

No, if you don't have that directory then acpid isn't the problem because it's not there. It's possible there's a BIOS setting telling it to sleep or something when the lid is closed that's not playing well with Linux.
