I've got an older computer I wanted to install linux on, but setup always hangs when it tries to load the cdrom (I think).
It's a Celeron 300A on a moherboard with an Intel 440LX chipset.
Windows installs fine from the CD.
Why would linux hang?
Edit: The CD boots into the install program, but as it's loading all the hardware, it hangs. (In debian, it hangs at "uniform cd-rom driver revision: 3.20")
