Debian 7 on Android phone

jhu

Lifer
Anyone interested in trying this out? I have a Debian 7 (armhf) disk image for use in a chroot jail if anyone is interested. Don't know where to post it though.

I don't have portable devices anymore, but I'd love to run Debian on a tablet or phone. I'm not a big fan of Android.

Seems like a good, cheap dev environment for ARM ports of software but I wouldn't want to run straight Debian on a device because none of the current Linux UIs would work well with touch.

Android works pretty well. A colleague was impressed when I showed him my phone compiling a software package. Well, still haven't found a place to host such a large file. Maybe I'll just get rid of a few packages to make it smaller.

How big is it? There's a lot of sites that will give you 2gb+ free storage, or if you want to collaborate on development you could use something like Sourceforge.
