Debate on English: Do you indent?

When writing any paper in English does it matter whether it is an techinical report or an essay in regards to indenting?

For example, in a lab report do you indent when starting new paragraphs? I would think so, since it makes it easier to read.

On Lab reports - no

yes, you do indent. an yes, sendtrash is right. even on labs too, especially cs152a lab 2.

Most of my english papers I'll indent. I'll also indent for most reports and letters. Some business letters I don't indent though.. sometimes no indentation looks better.

Correctly stated before... English papers should be indented. Technical reports and memos, no indentation. Just blank line between paragraphs.
