we should propose to both Kucinich and Paul, respectively, that the two of them should embark on a cross-country debate tour, Lincoln-Douglas revivial style. i'm sure that both would relish the press coverage that it would create and the fact that it would call america's attention to the real issues, not the idiot-style debates TV.

Link

Not originally my idea but I find it interesting nonetheless. I really like Kucinich and actually agree with Ron Paul on many issues as well. I think both deserve more attention than they get. Joining forces, so to speak, might be a great way for them both to get more of the media spotlight.

That would be a hell of a debate. They are polar opposites on literally every issue except Iraq.

I proposed this idea long ago. Let the two nutjobs have at it. The location should be Roswell, NM. And the broadcast on Sci-Fi.

I guess if one were to view Bush as sane, then one would view Paul and Kucinich as insane.

All I know is that you don't want to be climbing a tree when you read a Pabster post.

When I think of two nutjobs debating I think of you and Dave McGowan.

The most common comment I hear among democrats is 'well the only candidate I really agree with is Dennis Kucinich, but of course I know he can't possibly win'. Righties seem to similarly see Ron Paul as having some unique qualifications but see him as 'can't win' as well.

I think we all need to be asking how our system is broken that the candidates people so frequently respond to as having the positions they like most, are seen as 'unelectable' because the system has allowed money to determine who seems 'electable', with some vague quality built up not by positions, but by marketing money.

Why? Because as long as that marketing money is required to get elected, the people will not really be represented.

Paul is unelectable because he is one far right mofo.

Hes is the MOST conservative elected politicians in the country.

Likewise, Kucinich is one of the most liberal politicans in the country.

Having either one of these nutjobs will have the vast majority in this country, the moderates, unrepresented.

Already been done. Timothy Leary (LSD guru) did a lecture tour with J. Gordon Libby (Watergate "mastermind") back in 1982. It would be interested political theater, however-far better than the god-awful endless debates both parties are subjecting us to.

Because ideologues like Wreckem substitute labels for rationality. They're able to dismiss things that way without actually having to put any analysis into it.

When pressed, they'll spew a few tidbits to try to sound like they have reasons, but just embarrass themselves.

They'll also mis-use the 'far left' or 'far right' type labels that assume the current 'middle' is the only acceptable set of policies to dismiss the analysis of the positions.

The fact that the founding fathers or FDR and others were 'far something' as they obtained power has no effect on their assumptions.

Kucinich isn't even really "far left". Most of his positions are actually common among democrats. He's just different in that he stands by what he believes in and has clear plans on the major issues.

My ideology?

I gotta ask what you think that is?

Fact of the matter I'm fairly dead center. I am fiscally conservative, and socially liberal.

Kucinich is a nut job because he said he saw a UFO during a NATIONAL DEBATE. Cannot get anymore nutjobish than that.

Hey Wreckem, are you sleeping or what? Nutjobs?

Look I guess you still believe that Bush was really voted into office, and there was no voting scandal?

You HONESTLY believe America voted in such a stupid man for president?

When are Americans going to wakeup and realize the corruption in the system? :(
