hmm,. im the only one thinking you were in teh wrong.

what you should have done is begged those kind offciers if you could give them a ride to their car, you do this, and basically that spot is yours no matter what.

i believe someone could call a row of cars, as long as its not a really really long row of cars. thats why on really crowded lots, ppl wait in there cars in 1 row, they are saving that row for themselves. but lets say there are no row waiters, so you drive up to the officers car but at the same time another dude from the opposite end does the same thing and you both arrive at the same time, just do a rock paper scissor, and winner takes the spot. about as fair as its gonna get.

There were over 100 cars in that row....

ok, then they can't call the WHOLE row. but if they were only 4-5 spaces away when the officers were at their car, then its their spot not yours. ask and follow dont mean squat, unless the officer points to your car when the other cars are complaining. but if the officer doesn't say to the other cars, hey, that guy already asked me, then its not ur spot.

also, just because there are camara's dont mean squat. what i would do is wait for you to leave, follow you to your home, then just kill you and your family. therefore it pays to have common courtesy, since you have no idea what mental state someone is in

we have problems like this in my half built apartment complex.... 100 spots for 300 people.... will be 600 to 550 when its done, but for now- it's chaos. My neighbors actually take chairs and sit in parking spots to "hold" them for friends who are en route, all while 2 other cars fight over whos gunna run him over

Am I the only person who finds having to take 30-40 minutes to find a parking space absurd? That's how long it takes for me to get to work! I feel for you driving around endlessly just so you can find a place to park like that. I am glad I don't live in an area where that would ever be an issue.

LOL... that would be funny....

I still haven't gotten a response to where your common courtesy is. There is no doubt what you did was rude. If that is how you go through life, then why ask on a message board what others think?
