Debate: Duty to Vote

It is our duty to vote in every election possible.

ATM I have one contention: Those who feel it is required of them to vote may vote, but most likely will not spend as much time researching the candidates and their positions, and thus are more likely to elect the wrong candidate.

Please respond to my contention, or feel free to offer some of your own on either side 😀

Yes, but is it our duty to make use of all privelages afforded me? It is my government granted privelage to go to public school free of charge. Must I make use of this and not attend a private school?

Edited for a controvesial example
