Tampa police said Mays was found unresponsive by his wife Sunday morning. A fire rescue crew pronounced him dead at 7:45 a.m.

The Web site TMZ.com is reporting that Mays was struck in the head by something that fell from a luggage rack during a rough landing Saturday aboard a U.S. Airways flight. The plane?s front tire blew out after the jet touched down. Fox told a Tampa TV station something struck him in the head, TMZ reported. He reportedly wasn?t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the landing.
