I decided to try out Orb for my online media streaming. You DL this small program and select your music, video, and picture directories. It takes a few min to update the database...but all you have to do is visit their site from any computer on the web, login, and you can stream live any of the media you have shared....great quality...and its all free. I give it :thumbsup:

haha I figured this thread was long gone...but yeah...once you take the time to set it up (takes 10 minutes tops)...its awesome. Streaming video is also a feature! The audio is seamless with no "buffering" gaps...pure awesomeness this program is!

Hehe, i dont think i can start streaming videos to work...too many funny clips and movies.

i mean, i gotta do SOME work, right? it took like 5 minutes to set up, it's funny cause my music is set up by albums and there is a picture of the album in each folder; Orb picks that up too.

haha yeah....

a TIP for video streaming...I suggest that you lower your bandwitdh setting (under options when you login to stream) by about 100-150 kbps...that will help a TON with video lag you might encounter :) I have all my music videos hosted and it's nice to be able to watch them wherever, whenever

no...they make their money from advertising. When you go to stream a song online there is a relevent Amazon.com ad on the right for the CD you are playing

does that mean the orb corporation gets to see all the.. perfectly legal music and films you have on your system? they could sell that data to RIAA, MPAA. what are the privacy guarantees?

i got it ona live tv feed with media center but the problem is it took over media centers control of the tuner (which is a big no-no for me). I need to trouble shoot this some more though.
