You can't complain that every criticism is inciting hate. If I bash the leader of the Aryan Nation for promoting hatred, does that mean I'm promoting hatred against him and therefore just as evil?

The WORST accusation you can make here is that the left is playing the blame game. That's not the same as fomenting rage and violence. I have yet to see the words "M16", "reload", or "2nd amendment solution" targeted toward Palin.
Your searches have evidently been minimal.

Are you really concerned with Palin being treated like radioactive waste? Do you extend the same empathy to Rod Blagojevich and other corrupt politicians?

Do Republicans want to insure grandma or not?
How, exactly, is Palin corrupt? The left's hatred of her is based on nothing more than her being an attractive, far right female politician. Like blacks, the Democrats expect women to know their place toeing the party line and attack all those who fail to do so.

Republicans want to insure Grandma. Republicans are not fighting Medicare. Republicans are also not attempting to move everyone onto Medicare at Grandma's expense. The Democrats just did so, removing hundreds of millions of dollars from Medicare to fund a federal takeover of health care funding, replacing that money with a plan (since dropped) to have a nice doctor tell Grandma how much better it would be for her to just die with dignity rather than consume more than "her share" of health care at the end of her life. Obama himself has many times used "Maybe Grandma doesn't get the operation, maybe Grandma gets pain medication." Yet the left is trying to insist that everyone agree Republicans want to kill Grandma. Not gonna happen.

Were you forced to make this post without visiting the links because you lost a bet? Were you stoned? Have you suffered a serious blow to the head that might require medical attention?

First we have a link to the far left British Telegraph, helpfully entitled "Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama" and oddly enough complete with a video of Palin saying very nice things about Obama. Although it purports to be about Palin's comments being responsible for those death threats, the only thing specifically mentioned is her comment that Obama is "palling around with terrorists" - Bill Ayers and his wife. Since they actually were terrorists and remain unrepentant about their terrorist activities, I suppose we can throw out the oft-repeated conceit that Democrat attacks aren't really attacks since they are true - because this is absolutely true.

The specific wording is "The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks." This information is attributed to Newsweek. A search for the headline turned up the usual progressive circle jerk, where one far left rag publishes a half truth and then dozens more use it as a source, so I went to Newsweek. You know, Newsweek, that great bastion of unbiased reporting owned by MSNBC. The first link gives me this article: http://www.newsweek.com/2010/04/08/hate.html

with this passage:
"There was a lot of hatred in the 1930s," says Alan Brinkley, the Columbia University historian and expert on populist movements. But the currentsurge of fear and loathing toward Obama is "scary," he says. "There's a big dose of race behind the real crazies, the ones who take their guns to public meetings. I can't see this happening if McCain were president, or [any] white male." (Secret Service spokespeople reported spikes in threats against Obama after his election and inauguration, but they've also said the president generally receives about the same number of threats as did Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. They've declined to comment on whether there's been a spike in threats related to health-care reform.)
Since this is an April 2010 article by the very left Newsweek, there's one liberal sacred cow we can shoot. Obama is not being targeted by death threats at a level inconsistent with other Presidents. Note that this is completely at odds with liberal arguments that conservatives are inciting violence if they don't join with progressives in promoting collectivism and making war on individualism.
Eventually I turned up this article: http://www.newsweek.com/2008/11/06/the-great-debates.html#
with this passage:
"I'm worried," Gregory Craig said to a NEWSWEEK reporter in mid-October. He was concerned that the frenzied atmosphere at the Palin rallies would encourage someone to do something violent toward Obama. He was not the only one in the Obama campaign thinking the unthinkable. The campaign was provided with reports from the Secret Service showing a sharp and very disturbing increase in threats to Obama in September and early October. Michelle was shaken by the vituperative crowds and the hot rhetoric from the GOP candidates. "Why would they try to make people hate us?" she asked Valerie Jarrett. Several of Obama's friends in the Senate were shocked by the GOP rabble-rousing. Dick Durbin, the U.S. senator from Illinois who pushed for early Secret Service coverage for Obama, called Lindsey Graham, who was traveling with McCain. (Graham scoffed at the call as "an orchestrated attempt to push a narrative" about McCain going negative. He said he told Durbin, "OK, buddy, but remember—that goes both ways.")

Note that "The campaign was provided with reports from the Secret Service showing a sharp and very disturbing increase in threats to Obama in September and early October" morphed into "The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks" which became ""Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama". Nice. Progressives take a factual statement by the Secret Service, add their own conclusion, and publish it ad nauseum in a slightly revised version that has the Secret Service specifically blaming the increase on Palin. Thus the left uses the gravitas of the Secret Service to make up for its own lack of same. You guys are just fundamentally dishonest.

Then you have three McCain videos - I guess it was too difficult to find the videos of Palin calling for violence even though everyone knows she did so continually? The first video has McCain specifically saying he likes and respects Obama and his accomplishments, that Obama is a nice and decent person, that no one has to be afraid of Obama as President. One lady states that Obama is an Arab, and McCain corrects her, saying "No, he is a decent family man citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues, and that's what this campaign is all about." Yet even though this video has McCain speaking more nicely of Obama than did most Democrats, the video is titled "McCain tries to tame flames he earlier fanned." The earlier fanning is alleged, yet totally unsupported. Another pure fabrication.

The second video shows an angry man at a McCain rally. (Hey, everyone knows only the left is allowed to get angry, right?) Neither the man nor McCain advocates any violence in any way, McCain even going out of his way to promise to work with anyone.

The third video is the same exchange with the confused lady calling Obama an Arab and McCain defending Obama. Horrors, the violence!

This was totally lame, nothing more than typical left wing attacks. Basic honesty is completely beyond you guys.

The left better how nothing happens to Palin, because if something does and it looks like it was done in retaliation to this shooting in AZ, there is going to be a backlash this country hasn't seen in some time.

Yeah? You got your crystal ball out or something? I doubt much would happen but that's just me... I think she brought this all on herself...

I don't believe any of this for a minute. "Aids say"?? With no proof?

This is just her playing the professional victim, which she does very well.

For those of you who think she qualified for anything besides a yelping yorkshire terrier, ask this...

When Fox News acused then candidate Obama of being a defacto terrorist and when Fox News said he hated white people, did Barak Obama go on television and whine about it?

You righties false equivalency knows no bounds. The examples I've seen about Bush were from small left extremists groups. They had no mass media cable channel repeating these pictures or members of congress that not only condoned but promoted this type of behavior.

Republicans have opposed Medicare from the beginning, and still oppose it on ideological grounds. Medicare is socialism and the right opposes socialism. Right?

The Telegraph is a conservative, establishment, centre right paper.
That definition would leave no one except Marx, Red and Craig on the left. Declaring that you are the center by placing 80% of the country to your right merely makes you look foolish. Check out today's Editor's Choice in the Telegraph:
The pathetic weakness of US gun laws
Another tragedy, and yet there is silence in a nation betrayed by an insidious gun culture, says Harold Evans.
Note also that the Telegraph consistently identifies Giffords as a Democrat yet somehow never quite gets around to noting that Roll was a Republican. Casting the Telegraph as conservative or "centre right" merely identifies you as far left.

That's a BIG stretch. How many American politicians do not travel with their minor children at state expense? Hell, Pelosi sent her Air Force jet hither and yon with her grown children and grandchildren independent of her own travel. Declaring Palin to be corrupt would require every American politician with minor children to also be corrupt - and would make Pelosi some sort of plastic Mafia Don. Likewise with Palin "allowing her husband Todd access to government officials." Is there a rule that states spouses of politicians have less rights than common citizens? Because every common citizen has the right to lobby government officials for the firing of cops they consider dangerous. That's hardly on par with Blago.

As for Medicare, I repeat: It isn't the right robbing it, it's the left. Stating that the right opposes Medicare while the left is robbing it is a triumph of ideology over truth. We on the right are willing to accept some socialism - indeed, a measure of socialism is necessary to have civilization. We just don't want as much socialism as does the left. Think of it as medicine; most people want a polio vaccine, but not polio. The right wants as much socialism as it thinks necessary for civilization, but not the full-blown disease of Marxism the left wants.

That telegraph headline just represents that the UK think the US' stance on gun "control" is pathetic.

Gun rights are not a left wing/right wing issue in the UK.

Whether I am left/right wing has nothing at all to do with where the Telegraph is, I am self aware enough to not put myself in the centre.

Giffords was a politician, Roll was a Judge. Thats quite a big distinction over here. Judges are not perceived publicly as being political entities.

Given that the Telegraph is to the right of the Times, and you think the Telegraph is way to the left that would leave the UK with no right wing serious press at all. That says more about your bias than mine.

As someone who not living in this country and seen the dramatic shift of the right to the extreme over the top right. You are starting to get it. Reagan wouldn't make it through the primaries if he were around.

Breaking News* - Palin, the schoolyard bully shouting out at the world to make herself the gun-toting heartthrob of the extremists in her party, whines like a little spoiled brat when somebody wrests the blank loaded bat she's been bashing the left with and hammers her with it in response, exposing the frail, hollow snake oil saleslady that she really is.

More Breaking News* - The left gives Palin her now-unloaded bat back and cheers her on to reload it with more blanks of which to fire at the left and resultantly make even more trouble for the party she represents and reigns over.

Fire for effect, Palin! Full auto with your eyes shut tight! But please, everyone, don't let her know she's been aiming out of the wrong end of that bat.

Quoted for truth.

The simple fact that a trashy middle aged backwoods bimbo could rise to national prominence on the adulation of the republican base says more about them than about her, bet on that. They've raised stupidity to an artform.

I didn't bother to read the rest of your diatribe, but this part was really funny. Why would anyone dislike Sarah Palin?! She's just filled with intelligent ideas and insightful remarks. And with such leadership, she's become the face of the Republican party, attempting to lead us back to the good old days....

Dislike /= burning, foaming hatred. If the left hated everyone without intelligent ideas and insightful remarks it would have long ago turned on itself, burned down its government housing and massacred itself, leaving a mere pittance of itself to carry on the banner of liberalism. There's a reason J.C. Watts and Sarah Palin are hated so much more so than, say, Bob Barr - and that reason is that progressives, seeing people as members of larger groups rather than individuals, think of minorities and women as their rightful voting blocks. Therefore any woman or minority expressing conservative views is considered a traitor who doesn't appreciate all the left has done for their group.

He shoots...he misses!!

There's not a lot of for hate JC Watts, most don't even know who he is and those tht do might disagree with him but they don't hate him. There's a huge difference between Watts and Palin, ones bright, well spoken and believes in what he says where as Palin is in it for herself. How else can you explain Palinmaking herself a victim of this tragedy. Yeah she was unfairly blamed for this tragedy but she didn't help herself whining about it. If she had half a brain she could have made herslef look good by just expressing sorrow for what happened and called for healing but instead she pulled out the old "Woah is me" card. Not to bright.
