In reality, it's still pegged-

What major currency do you suppose the Dollar might decline against, anyway? The Euro? The Yen?

It hasn't yet been created- but I believe the main players would be-
Germans, Russians, Chinese and some of the UAE high rollers.

I'll call it the euaseuple!

The first 3 have a horrendous track record with respect to monetary policy. The Euro is garbage and is bringing countries to their knees, the Ruble has been worthless and is not much better today, and the RMB is somewhere in between. No clue about the UAE. Maybe we will be using Iraqi Dinars in the future for all international trade.

No. It can lead to a Government being unable to Pay, but that's not the problem with the $US. The problem right now is not the Debt or Deficits, it is the continued BS surrounding the Debt Ceiling and the willingness of some to cause a Default on Debt Payment. That is all.

It's like a successful Doctor raking in a very high Income making noise about stopping his Mortgage Payments. His Lender is going to get nervous.

No, it's both, actually, the Debt and the uncertainty over the Ceiling. If our credit rating drops again, we're going to be in trouble. Big "T" trouble.
