Death of the Futon (pics)

The futon my roommate bought at the beginning of the year was a piece of crap and took some abuse over the last two semesters with all the people we've had over, not to mention the drunk friends who couldn't make it back to their room and ended up crashing no the futon. We move out of the dorms in a few days so it was time.

My futon has become notorious through my friends for being the least comfortable thing on the face of the earth to sit on.

We decided it was time to remove it from the room, but then we realized that required an allen wrench. Needless to say we didn't have one.

So we took it upon ourselves to rip it apart metal bar by metal bar. This turned out to be a bit tougher than we expected and turned into quite a project. It was definately fun as hell ripping it apart, if any of you have some free time i highly recommend buying a cheap metal futon from K-Mart, putting it together, and then proceeding to rip it apart.

To me these pictures are hilarious, but it might be one of those things where you had to be there. The picture of the bleeding hand is mine; the gash is a lot worse than it looks in the picture heh. When you're twisting the bars around to get them to break off the edges get a teeeneee bit jagged

But for all practical purposes and the quantity that gets consumed it serves its purpose

i think its hilarious because you can hear "back that ass up" playing from my computer in the background


btw, that grey stuff is indeed the duct tape we were forced to use to hold the horizontal bars you sat on in place after they broke off. I don't think they were properly tested to hold the weight of 6 people

OMG!

That's exactly the same futon my girlfriend and I slept on for months.

It was uncomfortable because the middle of the bed had assumed more of a bowl shape because the middle crossbar broke. Probably from too much.. lateral forces.

and mine is in hideous shape.
poles are broken, middle is pain, etc.
